Amy Holloway is Principal and Founder of Aha!, a firm dedicated to helping leaders make their communities more prosperous places. She is a nationally recognized consultant who has worked with nearly 300 economic development and community organizations during her 29-year career.


Amy is regarded as one of the country’s top thought leaders on the topics of economic and community development. She has served as a strategist to places like Asheville, Atlanta, Austin, Chattanooga, Charleston, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Houston, Jacksonville, Miami, Richmond, Sonoma County, and many others. In addition to her client work, Amy is a frequent public speaker and meeting facilitator.


She established Aha! in 2024 to help her clients strengthen their foundations for success – trust among leaders, shared vision and goals, and actionable game plans. Aha’s clients include economic development organizations, chambers, executive leadership groups and other nonprofits.


Amy’s career as a strategist began in 1995. After a decade working with other consulting firms, Amy established her own firm, Avalanche Consulting, in 2005. Over the course of 15 years, she grew Avalanche to national prominence as the go-to strategist to some of the most dynamic communities in the country.


In 2020, EY acquired Avalanche, and Amy became a partner and director of its national economic development practice. In 2024, Amy retired from the partnership. She continues to serve as a senior advisor to the team alongside of her work with Aha!


Amy has an energetic, fun and welcoming style. She knows how to ask questions that lead to “aha!” moments. She thinks of herself as a motivational listener.


She holds BBS and MS degrees in economics from Baylor University. After many years living in Austin, Texas, Amy and her husband moved to Asheville, North Carolina, in 2020. In her free time, she enjoys cycling, tennis, painting and teaching pilates.
