Event Details

EVENT NOTE: Due to the rising number of COVID cases, the difficult decision has been made to move this event to a virtual platform. The event was originally going to be held in Hickory and will now be held via Zoom. Please see updated event information below, and we hope to have you join us on January 24-25 for the 2022 Emerging Executives Forum!

The Power of People

Join us virtually to broaden your economic development network and learn more about people on the move in economic development. In a rapidly changing global economy, economic developers must be aware of where our population is headed in workforce development, migration, and demographic themes. This forum will explore state and national trends in movement post-COVID, unique retention strategies, advice and stories of success and failure, and a focus on media relations for young professionals.

Featured speakers include:

  • Ashley Cagle - Assistant Executive Director, Wake County Economic Development
  • Jenn Bosser - President & CEO, Iredell County Economic Development Corporation
  • Michael Cline - State Demographer, NC Office of State Budget and Management

The agenda also includes two valuable panels: Advice for Emerging Executives: Expert Professionals featuring four seasoned professionals in economic development and Who, What, When - and Who Cares?: Media Relations for Emerging Executives featuring seasoned North Carolina media pros.

For our 2022 Forum Community Service Project, we will be supporting Safe Harbor Hickory. This was originally going to be a collection drive at the Forum. However, since the Forum is now being held virtually, please consider making a donation in one of the following ways to this wonderful nonprofit that helps women in the Hickory area transform their lives.
